If you learn it six times and equip it on your pilot, his chances of activating the skill multiply and so do his chances of comboing them. For example the Rate of Fire up skill increases damage. So skills that you get at the beginning of the game can be useful all the way till the end. The ability system is fantastic too with the way it activates based on probability and they also combo into each other as well. Or sell them, they are an excellent source of money. You can also get enemies to surrender.Īnd whatever mechs you capture you can then take apart after the mission and use their body parts on your own mechs. So you can do stuff like use skills/weapons that focus on pilots and take out pilots instead of mechs or kill them while they are ejected from their mechs (there are attacks that forcefully eject pilots).Īside from the fact that taking out pilots means you don't have to deal with their mech, that also means you can capture their mech or heck get one of your pilots to jump into an enemy mech and attack. Pilots can be ejected from their mechs and run around, and it can happen to enemies as well. Gotta love how it's not about just the mechs but the pilots are part of the combat as well. From the way the robots animate to the hit impacts and the satisfying UI feedback and sound design. Really cool stuff.Īnd the gameplay feels so damn good. You have an online shop to buy stuff etc. You can do stuff like learn more about the world and news or download plans for areas, thereby changing how missions proceed. It even has its own game world internet you can explore, with websites and emails etc. You can really feel the love poured into this game. It nails pretty much everything, from the story and characters/world design to the UI, visuals and most definitely the gameplay. Just finished it and all I can say is that the game is amazing from top to bottom and is up there with Zone of the Enders 2 as the best mech game I've played. I played it like 15 years ago but didn't finished it back then for whatever reason. Then remembered that I hadn't finished Front Mission 3. Had my run first run in with the Armored Core series via AC3 but bounced off of it pretty quick.
